Rising Moon
Girls’ Rites of Passage Camp
July 13-17, 2026
We invite girls ages 11 to 15 to this overnight camp at The Sharpening Stone, where experienced facilitators support them in the important journey of becoming a woman. This is a place where young women are witnessed, guided, and celebrated as they step more fully into themselves. Core routines of nature awareness and connection will guide our days as we build deeper relationships with ourselves, each other and the Earth around us.
Sleep under the stars, eat nourishing organic meals, enjoy time swimming in our abundant year-round creek, and spend evenings sharing stories, songs and skills around our campfire.

Honoring the Threshold
We will offer intentional spaces to explore our femininity, with empowering rite-of-passage rituals crafted for young women to learn more about their changing bodies and emotions. Our goal is to honor this sacred transition from girlhood into womanhood and create an experience in which each young woman is uplifted, celebrated, witnessed, and honored.
Deep Nature Connection
Our camp is designed to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for your daughter as she embarks on her own unique journey of self-discovery and service to the world.. In a culture that lacks the experience of the rite of passage we believe is essential to provide a space where deep questioning, healing, integration, reflection, and transformation can surface for a young woman.
Awakening Our
Inner Fire
Earth skills like fire making and basketry will support the girls in cultivating self-confidence and inner strength while nature awareness games and activities create a playful and fun experience. We offer various types of basketry, pottery, rawhide rattle making, felting, and more. The specific craft projects offered at each camp will vary based on the interests of the group.
