Traps and Tracking November 11-13th
In a survival situation, the ability to trap small games consistently is critical, because energy conservation is crucial. With Traps, we can be hunting in multiple places at once, but the making of traps is only one part of the artform of Trapping. Without the skills of Animal Tracking, you won't be successful. Learn and practice different types of deadfall traps, and understand how the art of tracking is an integral part of trapping.

Skin and Bones October 14-16th
Rebuilding our relationship with animals, and our place in the circle of life is crucial if we truly live close to the earth. All life is sacred, and any time we take a life we must honor it by wasting nothing. In this class, we explore ways to utilize the skins, bones and other parts of animals that have become our food. Each participant will have the opportunity to tan a rabbit fur with an ancient method called bark tanning. Learn the bark tanning process all the way from raw rabbit skins to a beautiful, soft, tanned fur for you to keep. We will include everything you need to know to go home and make use of animal hides you might come across-even roadkills! Tom will cover some different ways to turn bones into tools, and how to make those tools functional.
